Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Canvey.
A white Vauxhall Astra Sportive and a 31-year-old man were involved in the collision in Long Road at about 6.50am on Monday September 23.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital with multiple injuries including head injuries, a broken arm and broken ribs. He has since been discharged after undergoing surgery.
The driver, a 37-year-old man from Canvey, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, possession of drugs, drug-driving and driving while unfit through drink or drugs.
He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
